Best custard pie yet

The best custard pie I ever made.

Grandma’s Egg Custard with Trehalose Pie
Ingredients
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust (Non GMO)
3 eggs, beaten (Country eggs raised on farm)
1 Cup Trelose instead of [regular table] sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg white (brush over pie shell before cooking)
2 ½ cups scalded milk (Raw milk)
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C)
Mix together eggs, trelose, salt and vanilla.  Stir well then blend into the scalded milk.
Line pie pan with pastry, and brush inside bottom and sides of shell with egg white.
Pour custard mixture into piecrust and sprinkle nutmeg on top.  Cook 35-40 mins.

I am working on a cook book for my daughter who came out of 5 week stay in ICU from torn esophagus, thyroid - esophagus cancer.  She also had her thyroid and parathyroid glands removed and contacted staff and influenza in the hospital.  God was good - the surgeon ordered the nurses to give her the [Smart S]ugars and in fact she lived totally for six weeks on them (3 in hospital and 3 at home while the esophagus grew back, [and her health continued to improve].) ... [she] is doing wonderful.
